What we'd tell you
- Traffic decides a Bangkok day. The Skytrain and river boats beat a car at rush hour.
- November to February is the window. From May, the monsoon brings rough seas to Phuket's west coast.
- The Naka Island sits on its own island just off Phuket, reached by the hotel's boat. That's the point of it.
The one thing most people get wrong
Most people rush through Bangkok to get to the beach. Give it two nights at least. With the right hotel, the city is the better half of the trip.
