- Lanai is a short ferry ride from Maui, so a two-island trip is easy to build.
- December to April is humpback whale season off Maui.
- Spring and autumn are quieter and better value than the winter holidays.
The one thing most people get wrong
Most people try to fit Lanai into a day trip from Maui. Give it at least two nights: the island only slows down once the day-trippers are back on the ferry.
