Tokyo, Kyoto & Osaka
Tokyo and Osaka, under three hours apart by bullet train with Kyoto between them, and very different in how they eat, shop and stay up late.
Plan JapanWe reply to every inquiry within one business day.
What we'd tell you
- Avoid Golden Week, from late April to early May, and mid-August. That's when the whole country travels.
- Send your luggage ahead by courier and take the train with a day bag.
- Late March to early April and November are the peak months. Book the best rooms early.
The one thing most people get wrong
Most people try to see too much and spend the trip on trains. Pick two bases and do day trips from them: Kyoto for Nara, Osaka for Kobe.
